Hyderabad: Teachers misbehave, suspended

Another student claimed that he was pinched on the stomach and was called degrading terms.

Hyderabad: Three students of Gowtham Model School, AS Rao Nagar, alleged that their teachers had misbehaved with them and that two of them were asked to remove their shirts for coming late and not completing their homework.

The Class 9 students alleged that the teachers held them by their collar, asked them to open their shirt buttons in public to humiliate them in front of the class and abused. The mother of two of the three students is also a teacher at the school.

The management denied the allegation. Principal Kalpana said it was the outcome of an ego problem between the teachers and the mother of the children.

When the school contacted the teachers Uma Devi and Neha Ahmed who were allegedly involved, they admitted to holding the collar of the children but said that they did not ask them to remove their shirt. Both teachers have been suspended.

One student alleged, “I was selected as the headboy but many teachers who were angry with my mother took it out on me. They kept commenting on my appearance and would insult me in front of everyone. Today, the teachers removed my brother’s shirt buttons for not doing his homework.”

Another student claimed that he was pinched on the stomach and was called degrading terms. The teacher apparently said that he cannot be trusted.
