Hyderabad drugs racket: SIT picks leads from Mumaith Khan
Hyderabad: Investigation into the drug racketeering in Hyderabad intensified with the Special Investigation Team grilling Tollywood actress Mumaith Khan about the use of narcotics by the film actors and their involvement in its trafficking.
The Special Investigation Team headed by assistant commissioner (enforcement) J. Hari Kishan, women inspectors B.L. Renuka, V. Jaya Lakshmi and K. Karuna questioned Mumaith Khan.
According to sources, SIT officials questioned her on several issues. From drug culture in the film industry to special drugs being used during special events in the two pubs owned by actors to drug circulation and trafficking, to how mastermind Calvin Masca-renhas got introduced to the film industry to the drugs she used personally to her foreign trips and several other questions.
As per the SIT sources, she avoided many questions but with repeated sequential questioning, the SIT was able to pick several leads about the case from her.
“She refused to answer many questions but inadvertently passed on a lot of information. She was willing to give samples of blood, nails and hair for the drug tests but we did not require it in her case. We questioned her to build stro-ng evidence in all the seven cases. So far we have questioned eight persons from the film industry and we cross-checked information provided by the previous seven persons and Mum-aith Khan,” explained the SIT source.
The SIT had also questioned her on the few selfies she had taken with Calvin and also sought information about Puri Jagannath. Mumaith Khan denied the usage of drugs personally.
