Hyderabad: The University of Hyderabad has been ranked eighth in high quality research in chemistry in the Nature Index Survey 2019 and 10th in natural and physical sciences research.
The UoH is competing with the IITs in the field of research in physics, chemistry, life sciences, earth and environmental sciences. The research published from January 1 to December 31, 2018, was tracked by the Nature Index and evaluated. The results were released recently.
UoH Vice-Chancellor Prof. Appa Rao Podile said, “The outstanding research in sciences schools has earned this distinction for the UoH. This is by no means a simple achievement in the current scenario and we will continue to compete in the quality and quantity of research output.”
The Nature Index is a database of author affiliation information collated from research articles published in an independently selected group of over 65 high-quality science journals. The database is compiled by Nature Publishing Group (NPG). The Nature Index provides a close to real-time proxy for high-quality research output at the institutional, national and regional level.
