Thrissur: Infosys offers training for IT faculty

Software major brings latest updates engineering college teachers.

Thrissur: With the aim to updating IT faculty in engineering colleges with the latest in technology, Infosys Technologies has come up with a campus connect programme named Infosys Talent Quotient (InfyTQ) Leaning Platform and is conducting a six-day training sessions for them.

As many as 30 teaching faculty from 15 engineering colleges in and out of Kerala are attending the free training being held in Vidya Academy of Science and Technology at Thalakottukara here.

"The training is aimed at imparting the latest in the field of IT to the students by enhancing the knowledge of the faculty," Paul Chakola, head of the placement cell in Vidya Academy of Science and Technology said. "Programming skills, algorithm, object oriented concepts, research data analysis are being taught in the training sessions to the faculty."

The teachers are also being given training in python programming language as well.

Infosys trainers Hair S, who is heading the training programmes for the firm in the Kerala region and Safa H are conducting sessions.

"Programming has now been part of streams like electronics, electrical and mechanical as it is essential in robotics and artificial intelligence,” Mr Paul said. Infosys officials who are associated with the training progrmme said that such training session for the faculty would in turn help the students in almost all the engineering streams to land better jobs during campus selection tests.
