Telangana, AP CMs to meet today to end disputes

The Chief Ministers are expected to discuss the sharing of Krishna and Godavari River waters.

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy would meet at Pragathi Bhavan on Friday to resolve issues that merged out of the bifurcation of erstwhile undivided Andhra Pradesh.

The Chief Ministers are expected to discuss the sharing of Krishna and Godavari River waters.

The AP Chief Minister has arrived in Hyderabad along with Chief Secretary L.V. Subramanyam, adviser to government Ajay Kallam and senior officers of irrigation and energy on Thursday evening to participate the meeting. The Telangana CM seems to have held a preliminary review with the senior officers on the issues to be discussed in the meeting.

In their earlier meetings, both the CMs have in-principle agreed to settle the issues of the bifurcation amicably.

Sources said the meeting could focus on irrigation, energy, civil supplies and common institutions listed in 9th and 10th schedules of Reorgani-sation Act.
