Hyderabad: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi’s senior MLA T Harish Rao was present at the foundation laying ceremonies for the new Secretariat and Assembly on Thursday.
Once prominent leader in the party, he has of late been keeping away from party activities. At both the venues where the stone-laying ceremonies were conducted, he was nowhere near his uncle and Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao as he performed the pooja for the construction of the new complexes.
When Mr Harish Rao entered the tent where the MLAs sat, he was greeted by the party’s working president and his cousin K.T. Rama Rao and he reciprocated.
The cousins chatted for a while and party leaders who were near them said later that the two exchanged jokes. Mr Rama Rao said they should go and have a look at their old chambers in the Secretariat as they won’t see them again since they will be demolished to make way for the new complex. Mr Harish responded with a smile.
Later, at Telangana Bhavan, Mr Harish Rao took party membership in the presence of party chief Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, who launched the membership drive by becoming the first member.
As Mr Harish Rao was seen active at party office and venues of foundation ceremonies, party leaders are wondering if he is regaining his place in the party as well as the government.
