OOTY: Ooty-Ketti Joy Ride trips in Nilgiris Mountain Railway in weekends will commence from June 29.
In a release issued in this regard by the Salem Division of the Southern Railway it is stated that owing to the positive response from the tourists and high demand in this summer holiday season, it is now decided to operate Joy Ride round trips between Ooty and Ketti , three trips in a day during the weekends, commencing from June 29.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the first joy ride trip starts at Ooty by 9.40 am and will reach Ketti by 10 .10 am.
On return trip it will start at Ketti by 10.30 am and will reach Ooty by 11 am.
The second trip starts at Ooty by 11.30 am and will reach Ketti by 12.10 pm., On return it will depart from Ketti by 12.40 pm and reach Ooty by 1 pm. The third trip of the day will start at Ooty by 3 pm in the evening and will reach Ketti 3.30 pm., On return it will start from Ketti by 4 pm and reach Ooty by 4.30 pm.
Seating Capacity and fare is as follows:- First Class- 1 Coach (32 Seats), Second Class-3 Coaches (114 Seats). First class fare is Rs 400 and Second Class fare is Rs 300 (Including Value added pack worth Rs 100).
Tickets will be disbursed from Ooty railway station on “First Cum First Served Basis”, it is stated.
