Hyderabad: Shielding its contractors, the HMWS&SB has passed the buck to the GHMC, saying that the open sewer at Sai Priya Medical Hall, Madhapur, in which Moti Yadav, 24, died, belonged to the GHMC. The GHMC has carried out an inspection of all the manholes under its control. There are 4.7 lakh manholes under GHMC limits out of which the civic body maintains 2.7 lakh, and HMWS&SB the rest.
“Due to rains at about 7.30 pm on Saturday, there was water stagnation. The pedestrian, who was drunk, fell in the lead channel of GHMC, and not in the covered manhole of HMWS & SB,” said an official of the HMWS & SB.
