TD MLA nominee, others in Chittoor resign to party

The YSRC made a clean sweep in the Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh.

Tirupati: After the YSRC’s landslide victory in the state, several leaders of Telugu Desam tendered their resignation to the party in Chittoor district taking moral responsibility for the poll debacle in the Assembly elections.

Those who tendered their resignation include TD candidate for B.N. Kandriga, Anaganti Hari Krishna, party district publicity secretary Bandi Anand Reddy, TNSF district organising secretary M. Pawan Kalyan and several other party leaders and activists from various constituencies.

Hari Krishna secured 57,444 votes and lost to hisnearest YSRC rival K. Narayana Swamy with a difference of 45,594 votes.Before tendering his resignation on Monday, he said that he was resigning to the party in-charge post taking moral responsibility for the party’s defeat in the constituency.

Another prominent leader, Bandi Anand Reddy, who is the party publicity secretary, also tendered resignation stating reasons for his failure in securing the votes.

TNSF district organising secretary M. Pawan Kumar, hailing from Naidu’s own constituency Kuppam, also put in papers and said that non-cooperation from the party circles in Kuppam constituency led to the party’s defeat in the constituency.
