Hyderabad: Heatwave conditions will continue in Telangana state for three to four days. The temperatures rose even further on Monday, touching 47.2°C in Ramagundam and 46.2°C in Khammam.

In Nalgonda, Mancherial, Komarambheem, Peddapalle, Karimnagar, Warangal, Jagitial, Adilabad and Nirmal districts, the temperature ranged from 44°C to 45.2°C.

Nalgonda recorded 45.2°C and Hyderabad 44°C. Most areas in the city recorded temperatures of between 43°C and 44°C. Hot winds blew from the morning and air-coolers proved inadequate in the afternoon.

The hot winds are in coming from Maharashtra’s Vidharbha region where the temperature has touched 48°C and from Rayalaseema which recorded 46°C.

The Indian Meteorological Department stated that the whole of central and north India is experiencing very hot weather conditions and that is the reason for the hot winds blowing across the land area.

The IMD has advised people to stay indoors from 11 noon to 5 pm and avoid direct sunlight as much as possible.
