Hyderabad: IT Grids MD seeks pre-arrest bail
Hyderabad: Apprehensive they would be subjected to third-degree methods and forced to incriminate themselves if they are arrested by the Telangana state police, the managing of director IT Grids (India) Pvt Ltd Dakavaram Ashok and his wife and company director Srilakshmi filed individual petitions in the High Court on Monday seeking anticipatory bail.
They were booked by the police in the case of alleged data leak of AP and Telangana state voters. They moved the High Court after a Ranga Reddy district court rejected their petitions for anticipatory bail.
Ms Srilakshmi said the police may arrest her even though her name was not in the FIR. “Only due to the reason of marital relationship with Ashok, the police has been harassing me to secure the presence my husband,” she said in the petition.
The petitions may be heard on Wednesday by the vacation court.
Following a complaint by one T. Lokeshwar Reddy, who charged IT Grids with leaking sensitive data of voters of AP and Telangana, two FIRs were registered against Mr Ashok and Ms Srilakshmi in Madhapur and Sanjivreddy Nagar police stations. The police has been searching for Mr Ashok. He has not responded to police notices.
