Chennai: Newly elected legislators to be sworn in the Assembly this week

Among others senior DMK leaders are likely to attend the oath taking ceremony on Tuesday.

Chennai: The newly elected 22 legislators will be sworn in the Assembly soon.

While the 13 DMK MLAs will sworn in the Assembly in the presence of party president MK Stalin at the room of Speaker on Tuesday, nine AIADMK Legislators will sworn in the presence of party leaders on Wednesday. Among others senior DMK leaders are likely to attend the oath taking ceremony on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the government has published the names of the newly elected MLAs in gazette. The strength of the ruling party has gone up to 122 from 113 and DMK's tally rose to 101 from 88. Besides this the Congress has 8 Legislators, one each from IUML, Independent, nominated Legislator and Speaker.

The newly elected DMK legislators are - RD Shekar (Perambur), A Krishnaswamy (Poonamallee), S. Kathavarayan (Gudiyatham), AC Vilwanathan (Ambur), SA Sathya (Hosur), K. Kalaivanan Poondi (Thiruvarur), L Idhyavarman (Thiruporur), TKG Neelamegam (Thanjavur), A. Maharajan (Andipatti), KS Saranakumaar (Periyakulam), V Senthilbalaji (Aravakurichi), P. Saravanan (Thiruparankundram) and Shunmugaiah C. (Ottapidaram).

The newly elected AIADMK MLAs are G. Sampathu (Sholingur), A. Govindasamy (Pappireddipatti), P. Kandasamy (Sulur), V. Sampathkumar (Harur), S. Thenmozhi (Nilakottai), S. Nagarajan (Manamadurai), MSR Rajavarman (Sattur), N. Sathan Prabakaran (Paramakudi) and P. Chinnappan (Vilathikulam).
