THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 15-member special investigation team under the supervision of Thiruvananthapuram-range IG Manoj Abraham has been constituted to probe into the missing of the 20-year-old girl Jesna Maria James of Vechoochira in Pathanamthitta. The reward for any information about her has also been increased to Rs 5 lakh from Rs 2 lakh.
State police chief Loknath Behera issued orders in this regard. Pathanamthitta district police chief T. Narayanan will be the operational head of the team and Thiruvalla DySP R Chandrasekhara Pillai will be the chief investigation officer. A student of Kanjirapally St. Dominics College, Jesna was reported missing since March 21 after she left her home.
A police team had searched for her within the state and outside. There were also reports that she was spotted in Bangalore but could not be traced. The police have also urged the public to share any information regarding Jesna to the Thiruvalla DySP or over phone number 9497990035 or dysptvllapta.pol@kerala.gov.in.
