Comed-K: 70 from Karnataka in top 100
Bengaluru: Mayank Baranwal has secured first rank in the COMEDK UGET exam conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK) for the admissions to the all-India quota engineering seats available in the affiliated colleges. He has scored 165/180 in the test.
Vishwajit Prakash Hegde from Sirsi of North Carana district came a close second with a score of 164.
The test was conducted online in 290 centres located in 132 cities across the country.
Dr S. Kumar, executive secretary, COMEDK, said that among the first 100 rank holders, 70 are from the state, while within the first 1,000 ranks, 398 are from the state.
He revealed that 70,655 candidates had applied for the test and 58,932 appeared. Among them 19,601 were from Karnataka. “This year, COMEDK has announced the results two days prior to the notified date,” he added.
