Police on alert, intensify checks across Tirupati

He appealed to the local people and the devotees to alert the local police in case they come across any suspicious persons.

Tirupati: In view of threat perception warning received from Intelligence Bureau, the Tirupati police district superintendent of police K.K.N. Anburajan intensified surveillance and checking across the urban district limits on Saturday.

Following the alerts from Intelligence Beurau, police intensified the security checks at various places including railway stations, bus stations, hospitals and other pilgrim sensitive points at Tirumala, Tirupati, Srikalahasthi and other prominent pilgrimage places in and around the urban district limits, in a view to prevent any untoward incidents whatsoever.

Mr Anburajan said, “IB classified Tirupati as threat-prone area. We deployed security personnel to carry out checks at all the vulnerable places, leaving no chances for any untoward incidents. As there is heavy influx of pilgrims to the temple city round the year, especially during the summer season, we are taking extra measures as well.”

He appealed to the local people and the devotees to alert the local police in case they come across any suspicious persons.
