Maha Samprokshanam at Bhu Varahaswamy temple
Tirupati: The Agamic ritual, Astbandhana Balalaya Maha Samprokshanam was performed in Bhu Varaha Swamy temple in the auspicious Karkataka lagnam on Saturday between 11 am and 1 pm in Tirumala.
Ritwiks, temple priests, agama advisers led by chief priest of Tirumala temple Venugopala Dikshitulu performed the religious rituals.
After invoking the deities from Kumbham to Bimbam, the priests recited subsequent mantras pertaining to other 24 deities (Avarana Devatas) residing in the temple premises, the chief priest said. He also said special pujas were performed to deities in 12 Jeeva Sthanams and 48 Kalas and Naivedyam was rendered to all the deities.
Meanwhile, TTD has renovated the Varaha Swamy temple and performed Kalakarshana on April 23. As part of the renovation, three Makara Toranams were set up at the sub-temples — Sri Ramanujacharya, Sri Vishwaksenulavaru and Sri Pushkarini Anjaneya Swamy at a cost of `7 lakh. The deity of Bhu Varaha Swamy was taken out to procession from the temple covering four Mada streets between 7 pm and 9 pm.
Speaking to media persons on Saturday, TTD executive officer Anil Kumar Singhal, said that the Maha Samprokshanam in Bhu Varaha Swamy temple was performed now after 1982.
The EO said, “The measurements of gold plating for Vimana Gopuram were taken. I congratulate all the engineering officials for their efforts to give new look to the ancient temple and my sincere respects to all the priests who performed this ritual.”
Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju, CVSO Gopinath Jetti, temple deputy EO P. Harindranath and other officials were present.
