Hassan: Plaint against H.D. Revanna

They claimed the proxy votes were cast by Mr Nisar Ahmed, Mr P.T. Purushotham and others.

Hassan: Polling agents of the BJP have complained to Deputy Commissioner, Priyanka Mary Francis , who is Chief Electoral Officer of Hassan, about alleged electoral malpractices by Minister for Public Works, H.D. Revanna and his son, Prajwal, who contested from the Hassan constituency, on April 18, polling day.

In the complaint, the polling agents, Mayanna Gowda and M.N. Raju alleged that when JD(S) supremo, H.D.Deve Gowda and Mr Revanna arrived at polling station 244 at around 9 am to vote with their families, a group of about 30 youth barged into it along with them and was helped to vote with the collusion of the polling officers .

They claimed the proxy votes were cast by Mr Nisar Ahmed, Mr P.T. Purushotham and others. Mr Mayanna Gowda alleged that Mr Prajwal also led a group of 25 to vote between 4.30pm and 5.30 pm at polling booth 277. He regretted that although polling officers were alerted to the "malpractices" they remained mute spectators.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr Mayanna Gowda said he had been assured by the polling officers that a complaint would be lodged with the DC on the electoral malpractices at the Paduvalahippe polling booth, but although four days had gone by no such step was taken.
