Coimbatore: CB-CID plans repeat searches of farmhouse
Coimbatore: The CB-CID police here plan to search the farm house of Thirunavukarasu, one of the key accused, once again in connection with an audio released by an unknown individual few weeks ago in social media.
The CB-CID sleuths few days ago slapped rape charge in addition to the earlier sections against the alleged five offenders arrested in connection with Pollachi sexual harassment case.
While the CB-CID police have also planned to search the farm house of Thirunavukarasu where many young girls were sexually assaulted, few weeks ago an audio clip was circulated in WhatsApp by a unknown woman that went viral.
The hapless voice claimed she was herself one of the victims sexually assaulted by the gang and eight persons involved in the criminal activity. She also said a minor girl was sexually assaulted by the gang who later died and her body was buried in the backyard of the farm house.
To check the authenticity of the audio clip, police wrote to WhatsApp asking details of the person who posted the audio; however, till now they have not received any reply. Meanwhile, police have planned to search the farm house in search of the alleged girl's body.
A police higher official told DC that CB-CID police last month released a phone number for registering complaints through phone against the gang. On that number, they received more than 200 calls many of whom refused to lodge a written complaint. Of them, they have completed enquiry with 140 persons, and few among them have been added as witnesses in this case, added the source.
