As the issue sent the council into a tizzy, joint commissioner of BBMP of West Zone Chidanand was asked to explain. He said that Rs 35 cr was released, but he did not know whether the contractor executed the works.

Opposition leaders slammed the officer, and asked the ruling party members whether the BBMP needed such officers, who did not know the progress of projects.
