Hyderabad: A coordination meeting was held between Telangana state police with officials from the ministry of external affairs on Friday to work out modalities to integrate VeriFast with Passport Seva Project (PSP ) for seamless exchange of data.
The objective of the meeting was to sort out the issues between state police and the Regional Passport Office with regard to expeditious issue of passport to citizens. VeriFast is an application which brought about a drastic reduction in turnaround time in the police verification of applicants seeking passport. It has been a standalone application with the Telangana police as of now.
Now, the MEA will fully integrate the VeriFast application with the MEA website, following all the necessary security protocols. This will result in further reduction in the police verification turnaround time.
