Telangana: Maths has least pass percentage

Regular and private candidates appeared in 2018: 53,4726.

Hyderabad: SSC students scored least pass percentage in mathematics when compared to other subjects.

Regular students secured least pass percentage in Mathematics with 88.37 pass per cent this year while in 2017, the pass percentage for Mathematics was 87.87. The pass percentage for mathematics has increased by 1.5 per cent.

Regular students have secured the highest pass percentage (99.57) in second language while the pass percentage was 99.80 per cent in 2017.

After second language, regular students have scored highest in social studies with a pass percentage of 98.43. The pass percentage has decreased by a small margin this year.

In 2017, the students had secured 98.76 pass percent in social studies.

State president of Telangana Mathematics Forum Narendra Swamy told Deccan Chronicle, “We are only given eight periods for maths per week while 12 periods are required to teach maths to get better SSC results. Since more than four years, we have been demanding more hours for maths but no one has fulfilled our demands. Due to this, maths has the least pass percentage.”
