Bengaluru: Traffic was thrown out of gear near Nelamangala and Dobbspet on NH 4 after a serial crash involving five cars and a mini truck on Friday evening.
The police said that a Bengaluru-bound car lost control while the driver was trying to overtake a mini truck and hit the two cars that were ahead of it. This led to other cars crashing into one another.
Fortunately, no one was injured except the driver of the first car, who sustained minor injuries. He abandoned the vehicle and fled.
As the car was left on the middle of the highway, it led to a traffic jam. Nelamangala and Dabaspet traffic police rushed to the spot and cleared the jam.
The police have seized the vehicle and suspect that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. Nelamangala traffic police have registered a case and begun investigation.
