Rs 20.41 crore in TRS coffers, thanks to defected men

The party earned Rs 20.41 crore through donations. With this, the TRS has Rs 42.08 crore as fund.

Hyderabad: Leaders, who have joined the TRS recently from other parties, donated huge sums of money to the party’s coffers during the plenary session held on Friday.

Khammam MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who defected from the YSRC to the TRS, donated the highest Rs 2 crore and Malkajgiri MP C. Malla Reddy, who defected from the TD, donated Rs 1 crore.

Mr Reddy’s two relatives — Rajashekar Reddy and Vijayender Reddy — who run engineering colleges also donated Rs 1 crore each, raising speculations over their political entry into the TRS soon.

TS government advisor G. Vivek Venkata Swamy (former Congress MP who joined the TRS) and his wife Saroja Vivek also contributed Rs 1 crore each.

MLC Mohd Saleem, who shifted from the TD to the TRS, donated Rs 1 crore. Another MLC Bhanu Prasad, who had defected from the Congress to the TRS, donated Rs 1 crore.
