No unauthorised constructions in Andhra Pradesh capital, says Hyderabad High Court

The judge said that the new capital has to be built as per the aspirations of the people of AP.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Thursday told the authorities of Capital Region Development Authority not to allow unauthorised constructions in the new capital for AP and act sternly against any illegal constructions.

Justice Challa Kodandaram, while dealing with a batch of petitions by several residents of Penamaluru mandal of Krishna district challenging the attempts by the authorities to demolish their structures terming them illegal, said that due to unauthorised structures, Hyderabad city has lost its charm. The judge said that the new capital has to be built as per the aspirations of the people of AP.

The judge had earlier ordered that chief executive officer and director of CRDA to be present in court on April 27 to clarify with regard to the method and manner of implementation of the CRDA Act and also explain the reasons for unusual number of cases being filed by scores of individual house owners in the capital region. The judge directed the CRDA to file counter affidavits and petitioner were asked to file reply affidavits to such counters, and posted the matter to June 7.
