Q&A: Work needs to be finished at the earliest, says Traffic police

The alternate road to the airport is an important route to it. Considering the present traffic conditions, we need an alternate road to the KIA. But there are a few works being carried out on it, which need to completed at the earliest to help decongest the Hebbal junction.

At the co-ordination committee meeting we had requested the authorities concerned from various departments to complete the work on the alternate road so that traffic could be diverted to it. If the road is made use of properly, it will be certainly helpful as it will take away 25 per cent of the traffic heading to the airport from Hebbal and decongest the junction there.

Once the road is fit and usable, most of the traffic from the eastern parts of the city will use it and then we will also start thinking about installing speed breakers, signages and more on it.

But first we want the pending work to be completed on the road. We understand it will take a while as various kinds of work are underway simultaneously. But our request is to finish it as soon as possible, so that we can make travelling to the airport smooth and easy for commuters.
