Hyderabad: Minor dies 5 days after mishap in pool
Hyderabad: A 5-year-old girl child who suffered a mishap at a private swimming pool in Alwal died after battling for her life for almost four days at a private hospital on Wednesday. The parents of the child have lodged a complaint against the management and the coach of the pool, alleging that their negligence has resulted in the death of the child.
According to the Alwal police, the girl, identified as Aadhya Rao, 5, a resident of Balaiah Nagar under Alwal police station limits, was studying UKG in a private school. Her parents had enrolled her at the V.V. Swimming Pool in Old Alwal on March 20.
Alwal inspector M. Mattaiah said that Aadhya was late for her swim session on March 23. As Aadhya was insisting that she wanted to enter the pool, she was allowed to enter.
“Sometime later, Aadhya's mother went to the washroom and when she returned, Aadhya was missing. She alerted the staff about it, and the staff at the pool and the others rescued the drowned child. She was rushed to Raksha Hospital for treatment. At about 5:45 am on Wednesday, Aadhya was declared dead,” said inspector Mathaiah.
