N Chandrababu Naidu to meet parties in Delhi over SCS
VIJAYAWADA: The All Associations meeting called by the state government was boycotted by YSRC and Jana Sena while Left parties CPI and CPM expressed their opinions and returned without supporting the resolution of protest against Union government. Congress along with political parties like Lok Satta, Republic Party, Aam Admi, CPI (ML), Liberation Front extended their support for the state government’s resolution. Likewise, civic societies, journalists, NRIs, teachers, trade and commerce associations also supported the state government’s resolution.
The Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, shared with All Associations about the meeting scheduled to be held with political parties at Delhi on April 2 and 3 to seek support for the Special Category Status and said that he had gained the support of almost all national parties so far. The All Association meeting chaired by the Chief Minister Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu at the Secretariat on Tuesday decided to carry on a peaceful movement for the Special Category Status and against the Union government’s negligent attitude. It was also decided to create awareness amongst the public within 10 days and make them prepared for the intensified protests.
Mr Naidu had suggested to All Associations to be very cautious of every moment as the protests should be peaceful and with care taken to see that no unpleasant incidents happen during the movement. Meanwhile, APNGOs and employees’ associations announced the working of overtime to express their protest like in Japan. It was also decided that every individual should carry black badges until April 6 in the state to express their protest. The All Associations meeting also decided to organise one more meeting to discuss elaborately on the future plan of action by inviting the associations that have missed participating this time.
Before this Mr Naidu explained the scenario right from the bifurcation of the state and its consequences, reasons for the alliance with NDA, denial of Special Category Status and assurance of a special package, betrayal by BJP and unfulfilled bifurcation commitments and assurances. While speaking in the All-Association meeting CPM state secretary P. Madhu criticised the TD and said it is equally liable as BJP in betraying the state. He further denied their support to the government and All Associations as TD government had booked cases against them and their members were sent to jail though they were fighting for Special Status and bifurcation commitments since the last four years and said it was not right to go hand in hand with TD now. Mr Madhu clearly stated that they will not be a part of making the resolution in All Association meeting directly with Mr Naidu and even with the media.
