Kerala: ASI suspended for sharing transgender's nude clips
ALAPPUZHA: The district police chief S. Surendran has suspended an additional sub-inspector at the women cell after a transgender's nude video clips went viral. He said R. Srilatha, the officer, was sharing the clips she shot with an outsider, also a transgender. "The transgender who got the videos from her circulated it on the social media," he said. "She has admitted it." The police had taken the transgender into custody on March 22 on charges of creating a ruckus in a shop at Irumbupalam here. “The person in an inebriated state was brought to the station by woman officers," he said.
"The transgender refused to be subjected to medical examination and engaged in a commotion with officers and stripped self inside the police station. We later released the transgender without charging.” Meanwhile, the District Transgender Justice Board member C.A Geethu said that the person was to blame for creating all sorts of problems inside the police station. “After the custody, police officials had contacted us, and one of our board members went there," she said. "But the person attacked him and turned against two women officers and got undressed. However, sharing the video is deplorable."
