No sonrise' for J Krishnamurthy, only jail time
Chennai: Observing that he has not only cheated the court but also prepared forged documents, the Madras high court on Monday directed the police to secure J. Krishnamurthy who claimed to be the son of actor Shoban Babu and former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa. Justice R. Mahadevan gave the directive to the cops to proceed in accordance with the law and posted to April 10 further hearing of the case for filing of the police report.
After perusing the report filed by the Inspector of Police, CCB and taking the same on record, the judge said in his order that the petitioner is the son of Vasanthamani and not the son of Jayalalithaa as falsely claimed by him. “It is also alleged that old stamp papers were purchased from one Subramanian, a stamp vendor and fabricated and the name of former chief minister was written as Komalavalli alias Jayalalithaa. Only with an interior motive, the petitioner came before this court. The police are directed to secure the person and proceed in accordance with law and report before this court on April 10, 2017”, the judge added.
Doubting the genuineness of the documents produced by Krishnamurthy and seriously warning him with dire consequences if his claim was found to be fake, the judge had directed him to appear before the Chennai Police Commissioner on March 18 with the original documents for verification. The police conducted an enquiry and filed the present report after the documents were made over to them.
In his petition, Krisnamurthy claimed that he was born to Jayalalithaa and Shoban Babu on February 15, 1985 in Bengaluru. However, his parents got separated due to differences of opinion and he was subsequently given in adoption to a couple in Erode district.
He submitted certain documents, including a deed of adoption, to substantiate his claim. Former chief minister MG Ramachandran had signed as a witness in the deed of adoption, he had claimed. Though he was given in adoption, he was in touch with Jayalalithaa and had visited her several times, he stated.
In September 2016, when I met her in Veda Nilayam, she told me that she had plans to introduce me to the public as her son. But, her close aide VK Sasikala opposed the decision and quarrelled with her. Only subsequent to the incident, Jayalalithaa was admitted in Apollo hospitals and was declared dead on December 5”, he added and prayed to direct the police to provide protection to him as he faces a threat to his life from Sasikala and her relatives.
