There was a major security scare across several airports in the country, including the national capital on Wednesday, following a phone call from the US that claimed 11 aircraft of private carrier IndiGo could be in danger of being blown up.

The caller, who identified himself only as Smith, said at least 11 flights of IndiGo, which were either ready for take off or had already departed from around 10 airports, were facing bomb threat from one or other woman passenger.

The call was later found to be a hoax. On Tuesday too, another call spoke about bomb threat to five Jet Airways flights from Delhi. It too turned out to be a hoax.

Also on Wednesday, a former Pakistan military officer is learnt to be leading a module of six terrorists for a strike during Holi.On Friday, a threat to bomb two Air India flights was made by an anonymous caller.

However, the worst scare came on Thursday following reports that Father Tom Uzhunnalil, 56, a Catholic priest kidnapped by ISIS militants in Yemen on March 4, could be crucified on Good Friday.

With messages floating around on various social networking platforms, the Christian community members began prayers for the abducted priest and are hoping that he is spared by the militant group.
