KIIFB approves 24 new projects worth Rs 1,003 crore

With the approval the total amount for projects and land acquisition under KIIFB has reached Rs 42,363 crore.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) on Wednesday approved 24 new projects at a cost of Rs 1,003.72 crore.

The projects which were approved include drinking water schemes, sports facilities including ind-oor stadium, road infrastructure, development of 5 ITIs, modernisation of medical colleges and shore protection works in Kollam district .

With the approval the total amount for projects and land acquisition under KIIFB has reached Rs 42,363 crore.

Under the Chathannoor drinking water project, the distribution system from JICA scheme will be extended to various villages in Chathanoor Assembly constituency.

The construction of Vadakara indoor stadium and Sree Narayana Nagaram indoor stadium will be taken up on priority. Construction of district court complex at Thalassery and upgradation of 5 ITIs in the state are among the important projects being taken up .

While '86.74 crore has been set aside for improvement of Adoor-Thumpamon-Kozhencherry Road, '14.44 crore was set aside for development of Alapp-uzha mobility hub Phase 1- KSRTC bus terminal complex (MEP works).
