GHMC demolishes 22 illegal structures
Hyderabad: Twenty two illegal structures were removed by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday in a special drive.
The unauthorised structures like parking lots, extra and additional floors added to the existing structures without obtaining proper permission and illegal buildings were demolished by the government.
There were six demolitions in LB Nagar, five in Serilingampally, five in Secunderabad, three in Kukatpally and three in Khairatabad.
As many as 44 structures were dismantled in the last two days in the city and their debris were collected.
Director Srinivas Rao said, “We are going to carry out the demolition if proper permission has not been taken. The officials will seek papers for permission and will verify it before demolishing the structure. The demolition is being taken up as there are unauthorised constructions in high rise buildings too, where the requisite permissions have not been taken.”
The town planning department has stated that the demolition will continue for two more days.
The GHMC officials stated that the demolitions would be a lesson to the people who are carrying out unauthorised constructions without obtaining permissions from the corporation.
