Kerala: Teen alleges moral policing in Facebook video

The 19-year-old also pleads not to come home and disturb her as there were elderly persons in the family.

KOZHIKODE: The case in which a Muslim girl from Villyappalli posted a video on Facebook alleging moral policing, took a U-turn as the case was reportedly settled a short while later. In the Facebook video, the girl had complained that her newly-bought scooter was destroyed by two persons who trespassed late night at her house.

The girl said that she was tired of moral policing, even from the police, and that it was difficult to live in the society when there are no male members in the family. The 19-year-old also pleads not to come home and disturb her as there were elderly persons in the family. When contacted, the Vadakara police said that the case was settled after both the parties decided to compromise. The vehicle was repaired by the accused and the girl accepted it and no case was registered.
