Hyderabad: Deadline for LRS regularisation ends today
Hyderabad: The due date for disposal of lands applied under Layout Regularisation Scheme (LRS) would end on Wednesday.
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials said that they would accept cash payment and DDs till 9 pm on Tuesday and the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authorities claimed that it would receive online applications till Wednesday midnight.
The corporation had received 71,993 LRS applications and disposed 60,107 applications and rejected 1,572. HMDA received over 1.74 lakh applications for regularisation of layouts. The corporation had generated Rs 86 crore and was expecting Rs 25 crore on the last day.
Following the state government’s instructions to clear all pending LRS applications by February 28, the GHMC would hold ‘LRS Mela’ that day at all zonal offices. Zonal city planners were asked to make all necessary arrangements for timely disposal of LRS applications. The Centre for Good Governance (CGG) team would provide onsite support at each zone. The CPs would also coordinate with Zonal FAs for clearance of ERPs of DD so as to issue proceedings the same day. All staff were asked to ensure that all applications were attended to by the end of disposal date.
Delay in processing applications had been attributed to inspections, scrutiny, shortfall or non-submission of requisite documents, non-payment of fees in full and in examining title deeds.
Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar, in recent orders issued to the municipal commissioners concerned, made it clear that in case the applicants did not submit the required documents or do not pay fees in full, the applications would stand cancelled.
