765 KV Wardha-Hyderabad line ready, to end power cuts

The line will help the state get power from Chhattisgarh without any problem.

Hyderabad: In major relief to citizens, the Power Grid Corporation of India has completed the 765 KV Wardha-Hyderabad double-line 18 months ahead of schedule. The line will help the state get power from Chhattisgarh without any problem.

TSTransco successfully erected and test charged the new 400KV feeder bays at Dichpally substation on February 25. TSTransco director (projects and grid operations) G. Narsing Rao said now that the corporation was ready to receive power from 765 KV / 400 KV Nizamabad substation constructed by PGCIL under Wardha- Hyderabad transmission scheme. “If PGCIL requires start up power at 400 KV level, the same can be extended through these 400 KV feeder bays,” he said.

The project was scheduled to be completed in 2018. Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh government has promised to supply 2,000 MW power to TS.
