Nizamabad: TRS legislator Bajireddy Govardhan on Saturday slapped party MLC Dr R. Bhupati Reddy and his supporter as two groups within the party clashed over some publicity material. The MLC also faces a case for slapping a police officer.
The followers of Dr Bhupati Reddy were objecting to the absence of the MLC’s photograph on flexiboards, which escalated into a fight at Kalur in Nizamabad mandal on Saturday.
The two groups had gathered at the village for a local function. This is the second time a TRS MLA is involved in a slapping incident.
On September 4 last year, TRS Achampet MLA Guvvala Balaraju slapped Makthal Congress MLA P. Rammohan Reddy during a arguments at a Zilla Parishad meeting in Mahbubnagar. Police spoke with both the groups and Dr Bhupati Reddy and defused the situation.
