Hyderabad: Inter board to allow downloaded papers
Hyderabad: In a major relief to students studying in private junior colleges, the Board of Intermediate Education has decided to rein in private managements if they attempt to stop students from appearing for the exams, which begin later this week.
Colleges have been instructed not to deny hall tickets to students. “Action will be initiated if any such incident comes to our notice,” said Dr A. Ashok, commissioner and secretary, Board of Inter-mediate Education.
He said students can download hall tickets from the BIE website and appear for the exams. Unlike last year, students would be allowed inside the centres if they produce the downloaded hall tickets.
Dr Ashok called upon students to turn up at the examination centres ahead of the scheduled time of 9 am. No student will be allowed even a minute after 9 am, he said.
For the convenience of students, paramedical teams will be kept available at each examination centre.
“Students will be allowed to enter the exam centre from 8.45 am. RTC will run special buses, from 5.30 am for the students. Students should make necessary arrangements and avoid inconvenience,” Dr Ashok said.
Also, as part of anti-copying measures, GPRS would be blocked in the vicinity of 1,257 exam centres. Service providers have agreed to comply with these instructions, he said.
The BIE will provide 24-pages a single booklets to students instead of many additional sheets. A control room in Hyderabad to monitor exam activity all over the state has been set up.
Authorities have taken care not to allot exam centre of two reputed private colleges in each other’s premises to rule out any irregularities.
