Bengaluru: DG's circular Shobha Karandlaje fumes

In the present case, the DG&IGP's circular clearly stated that the cases filed against minorities should be withdrawn , Ms Karandlaje said.

Bengaluru: Accusing the Siddaramaiah government of indulging in appeasement politics by ordering superintendents of police to withdraw cases against minority community youth, BJP general secretary and MP Shobha Karandlaje demanded that the state government withdraw the controversial circular issued by the DG&IGP.

Shobha Karandlaje told the media that governments in the past withdrew cases filed against Kannada activists and farmers by using their powers.

But no government took a decision to withdraw cases along communal lines. In the present case, the DG&IGP's circular clearly stated that the cases filed against minorities should be withdrawn, Ms Karandlaje said.

If the state government fails to withdraw the controversial circular, which is against the Constitution, it would be the final nail in the Congress party's coffin, she said.

"It seems like someone has given a supari to Siddaramaiah to finish off the Congress," she said. She alleged that the Congress is trying for electoral tie-ups with fundamental Muslim organisations like the SDPI, PFI and KFD. She slammed the chief minister for terming BJP national president Amit Shah as a jail bird.
