Seethakka Says Praja Palana Every Four Months To Resolve the People's Problems

“Beneficiaries to be selected impartially without political biasâ€

Adilabad: Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Seethakka said on Wednesday that the Praja Palana programme will be conducted once every four months to resolve people’s grievances.

“We will be receiving applications from the people on a continuous basis. The government will organise special drives to resolve the people’s grievances. The old social security cards will be continued and new cards will be issued,” she said.

Seethakka appealed to the people to bring their photograph, Aadhar card and ration card along with their applications. Officials would visit interior villages that are located far from the gram panchayats and collect the applications, she said.

The rural development minister said the applications will also be accepted for two days at the Tahsildar offices even after the last date of Jan 6. “People need not panic about the last date. Your government is led by chief minister A Revanth Reddy. He is committed to development of the interior and agency areas too, which lack road connectivity and lack of access to drinking water,” she said.

The minister also said the state government was committed to the welfare and development of the marginalized sections.

Seethakka was speaking to the media after reviewing the arrangements for the Praja Palana starting on Dec 28 and the programme would continue on all working days till Jan 6.

She said the beneficiaries will be selected based on eligibility and irrespective of their political party affiliations. “We are involving even the opposition MLAs and ZP chairmen in the preparatory meetings.”

“The Congress government will implement all the six guarantees in a phased manner in 100 days, unlike the previous (BRS) government that failed to fulfill its promises like the 2bhk, doles to the unemployed youths, pattas to the podu lands, job recruitments and grant of rights for Assigned lands. None of these happened. So with the BJP-led central government’s promise of creation of two crore jobs per year,” she said.

During the review meeting, Seethakka insisted on preserving all the applications received from the people. She said there should be no scope for complaints that the application forms were thrown into dustbins as might have happened in the past.

Seethakka said anthropologist Von Furer Haimendorf and Betty Elizabeth’s death anniversary would be observed officially on Jan 11.

Bellampalli MLA Gaddam Vinod said the police should ascertain the genuineness of the complaints and should be impartial, unlike in the past, and must take steps to improve the law and order situation in the district.

He appealed to Seethakka to take special care of the development of the backward Adilabad district. Khanapur MLA Vedma Bojju and BRS MLA Kova Laxmi of Asifabad and ZP chairmen Janardhan Rathod, Kirshnarao, K Vijaya Laxmi and Adilabad assembly constituency Congress party in-charge Kandi Srinivas Reddy, Mancherial collector Badawath Santhosh and SPs Praveen and Uday Kumar Reddy, Sudheer Ramnath, additional collectors Khushboo Guptha, Sabawath Motilal, Deepak Tiwari, Faizan Ahmed and others were present.
