MP's richest' minister shuns salary, allowances

Bhopal: The ‘richest’ minister in the Mohan Yadav government Chaitanya Kashyap who owns properties worth Rs 294 crore has shunned the salary and allowances provided to the lawmakers under the relevant laws of the state Assembly.

The three-time MLA from Ratlam Assembly constituency in the state has announced that he would not withdraw the salary and allowances in the interest of the common people since ‘God has given me enough wealth’.

He is the first lawmaker in Madhya Pradesh to refuse salary and allowances.

Mr Kashyap has associated him in social works for the last three decades.

He has built 100 houses for homeless people and given them free of cost to them.

He is the first-time minister in the Mohan Yadav government.

He had earlier served as vice-chairman of state planning commission for two years in 2016-18 and worked without taking salary or any benefits from the government.

The newly inducted minister in the state government Gautam Tetwal is the ‘poorest’ member in the Mohan ministry with assets worth Rs 89 lakh.
