Mobile and Internet Networks Being Streamlined for Numaish

Hyderabad: With only four days remaining for the inauguration of Numaish 2024, the venue, exhibition grounds, is abuzz with eleventh-hour preparations to ensure a seamless experience to the visitors.

The organising committee is leaving no stone unturned, from setting up stalls to finalising tents, conducting fire safety drills and putting in place facilities like washrooms and ATMs.

The most popular event in the city’s annual calendar, which will run up to February 15, promises an array of cultural delights, showcasing the rich tapestry of crafts, clothing, artifacts and more from every corner of the country.

Salespersons from different regions are gearing up to present their unique offerings, each telling a story of local tradition and craftsmanship. In the heart of the exhibition grounds, artisans from Kashmir are busy setting up stalls adorned with intricately woven Pashmina shawls and handcrafted artifacts.

Rajesh K, a textile merchant from Gujarat, is setting up a colorful display of traditional Bandhani sarees and embroidered fabrics.

"Our state is known for its vibrant textiles, and I, a third generation owner, am continuing the tradition," he said proudly.

"We want Numaish 2024 to be a memorable experience for everyone. From the diversity of our stalls to the safety measures, we are committed to creating a welcome ambience to the visitors to explore and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of our country," said Satyendar Vanam, vice-president of the Exhibition Society, which organises the event.

"We're also working on improving mobile and wifi networks throughout the ground, with one tower in the center of the exhibition to ensure that calls and digital payments do not suffer interruptions," he told Deccan Chronicle.

He also said that with the metro station being right in front of the gate, more people should consider using public transport.

In view of the rising Covid cases in the city, he said that precautionary advisories would be made over the radio and on LED screens, and alerts put out on boards. However, they won't mandate masks and sanitisers.
