Telangana: Met predictions on cold wave go awry

A cold wave is when the minimum temperature drops 5 degrees below its normal.

Hyderabad: Contrary to Met predictions, the entire State, except Adilabad district, did not have a cold wave on Tuesday. The local weather bureau had announced that night temperatures would dip 5 degree Celsius below its normal for this time of the year.

Adilabad with 7 degrees was the only district that recorded low temperatures while Hakimpet, Hyderabad and Hanmakonda recorded 15 degrees and Badrachalam, Ramagundam, Medak Khammam and Nalgonda between 12 and 14 degrees. Mahabubnagar was the hottest with 17 degrees.

The forecast for the coming two days was dry weather likely over Telangana. Minimum temperatures could below normal by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius at isolated places.

The city was likely to witness fog/mist in the morning and partly cloudy sky later. The minimum temperature would be around 14 degrees.
