KOLAMGUDA (MANCHERIAL): Tense situation prevailed in Jannaram and it surrounding villages after irate Adivasis burnt a heap of dry grass that belonged to Lambadas and smashed some furniture at a grocery at Kothapet Lambada Thanda in Kawal gram panchayat in Jannaram mandal on Tuesday.
The Adivasis alleged that the Lambadas had attacked their youth Sidam Bheem Rao in the wake of their agitation against the Lambadas.
The Adivasis claimed that the Lambadas had been attacking their members after the police picketing was lifted on Monday evening.
Rapid Action Force has been deployed at Kothapet Kolamguda and Thanda. After the scuffle, top police officials and collector R.V. Karnan visited the village and appealed the villagers to restrain from resorting to violence and asked them against believing in rumours.
