Top Odisha BJP leaders may quit party

The MLA threatened to resign from the post and party as well.

BHUBANESWAR: Odisha politics is likely to take a new turn in the coming days as two top leaders of the BJP – Bijoy Mohapatra and Dilip Ray - are reportedly planning to part ways with the party within the next two to three days.

While former Union minister Dilip Ray is unhappy over what he said was the Centre’s “failure” to fulfil the long-standing demands of people in Steel city Rourkela, his Assembly constituency, - Mohapatra is sulking for being “sidelined” in the party.

Expressing his displeasure over “central negligence” for construction of a second bridge across the Brahmani river and up-gradation of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) into Super Specialty Hospital in Rourkela, the MLA threatened to resign from the post and party as well.

Speaking to a local news channel of Odisha, Mr Ray said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced a second bridge over the Brahmani river, and upgrade IGH, but after four years, nothing was done.
