K T Rama Rao road show at peak hours slows ambulance

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi's candidate Danam Nagender and minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav were present at the show.

Hyderabad: As part of the election campaign, minister K.T. Rama Rao participated in a road show at Somajiguda, in the Khairatabad constituency and five other places in the city on Monday.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi's candidate Danam Nagender and minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav were present at the show.

Mr Rama Rao would stop the vehicle in the middle of the road to address the public, causing a traffic pile-up behind him.

Commuters on the way to their evening duties were annoyed at the traffic jams in Jubilee Hills, Somajiguda and other areas where the road show was held.

Some citizens even argued with traffic cops in Jubilee Hills as they were blocking the road during the peak hour.

S. Raju, an IT employee who was on his way home from Madhapur to Secunderabad, said, “Everyone is in a hurry to reach home after a tiring day. But we were blocked here by cops who had to clear traffic for our safe movement. This is ridiculous!"

Two ambulances were struck in the traffic jam on the Begumpet- Panjagutta stretch because of the traffic jam caused by the road show. A video of an ambulance struck in the traffic jam was put up on a social media site.

"It is very surprising that such a sensible leader took out a road-show during the peak hours, when it would obstruct the flow of traffic," said Dheeshman, who was going from Sec-underabad to punjagutta.
