Hyderabad: RGIA charges extra parking fee against Airport Authority of India

According to the rules AAI has every right to regulate the International airports.

Hyderabad: The Rajiv Gandhi International airport at Shamshabad is charging Rs 30 and Rs 150 as parking fee for two-wheeler and four-wheeler respectively.

However, according to the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the parking charges for four-wheeler and two-wheeler for a minimum of two hours should be Rs 100 and Rs 25 respectively.

Speaking to this newspaper, RTI activist Vijay Gopal said, “Shamshabad airport is levying more parking charges on the public. According to the rules AAI has every right to regulate the International airports.”

However, RGIA tweeted, “AAI parking tariff is not applicable at RGIA, Hyderabad, which is a Public private partnership. There is no grace period in the car parking and the charges are levied based on the time that a vehicle is being parked in the car park.”
