Hyderabad: Police told to produce missing candidate today
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday directed the Telangana state police to trace and produce K. Dinesh Chakravarthy contesting candidate for Samajwadi Forward Bloc (SFB) Party for Gajwel Assembly constituency before the court by 2.15 pm on Tuesday (November 27).
A division bench comprising Justice Raghavendra S. Chauhan and Justice M. Satyanarayana Murthy was hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by L. Muralidhar Rao, SFB party national president, alleging that the police have not put any efforts to trace the party candidate who went missing on November 22.
When the government counsel requested for some time, the bench directed the police commissioner of Siddipet and Station House Officer of Gajwel to search for Dinesh and produce him before the court without any explanations as he is a contesting candidate.
The petitioner’s counsel informed the court that family members of the disappeared person are also unavailable and their whereabouts are not known. In an affidavit, the petitioner submitted that they were suspecting TRS leaders’ hand in Dinesh’s disappearance.
