Bengaluru: Masked man makes failed bid to break open ATM
Bengaluru: In a failed robbery attempt, an ATM of Andhra Bank was partially destroyed by a man early on Monday morning in Rajajinagar police limits.
The incident took place around 3.30 am at the Andhra Bank ATM located on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar. The police said that a man with his entire face covered in a mask entered the ATM, opened his tool bag and started cutting the machine using a gas cylinder and a cutter. Soon after, an alarm went off and the bank security department immediately alerted the police. The accused failed to cut open the inner safety locker where the money is stored and fled from the scene before the Rajajinagar police reached the spot.
The police said that in the CCTV footage, they can see only one person. They suspect that there could be another person who might have helped him escape.
The Rajajinagar police have registered a case and are investigating.
