Telangana: New roads to benefit farmers
Kothagudem: Hardships of farmers in remote habitations in Yellandu area to sell vegetables and farm produce in markets will be resolved soon. There are occasions when farmers lost their earnings as they could not bring their produce to markets due to lack of road facility.
For their benefit blacktop roads have been sanctioned at a cost of Rs 15 crore in 12 habitations. Public in Polaram, Komararam, Manikyaram and Rompedu gram panchayats and remote habitations including Amarasing thanda, Pocharam thanda, Tutumbala thanda, Manikyaram, Sarvey thanda, Ellagudem, Ompugudem and Santhinagar thanda will benefit from these roads.
Earlier, during monsoon season as transportation becomes almost impossible farmers used to lose their produce. With the new roads they can bring chilli, cotton, paddy, maize, redgram and greengram to markets. Komararam sarpanch Vankudothu Bhimji said that the demand for blacktop road is a decade old one. The sanctioned roads will benefit farmers and students, he said.
