Rajahmundry: Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, the mayor of Rajahmundry, broke down in tears at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the Agriculture College of Acharya N.G. Ranga Agriculture University at Katheru village on Sunday. Her name, as the first citizen of the city, was not included in the list of people inscr-ibed on the plaque unv-eiled on the occasion.
She was so deeply upset that she informed agriculture minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, who laid the foundation stone for the college, about the omission which constituted a violation of protocol. He responded by saying that the officials in charge would be infor-med about it.
The Mayor also bro-ught the issue to the notice of Kakinada MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Chowdary, He reportedly reprimanded her for over-reacting to a small issue and behaving in a childish manner. This further upset her and stormed off the event.
